Sowing Seeds - Mark 4:26-29

Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is like this. A man scatters seed on the ground; he sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts. The soil produces a crop by itself--first the blade, then the head, and then the ripe grain on the head. But as soon as the crop is ready, he sends for the sickle, because harvest has come."

When we plant seeds of faith, God causes the growth. He might use someone else to water and feed the weary souls but the harvest comes--thanks be to God.

Each of us has different talents and abilities but all for one purpose--to further the Kingdom of God. Whether we preach, teach, write, encourage or help others, His kingdom grows and grows.

Lord Jesus, be in me today. Take away my fear of reaching out to others, even those I don't know, with your love. It only takes a smile or an encouraging word or helping along the way. I need your help to fulfill the plan for your kingdom. Amen.

Come to the Water

Whoever is thirsty, Come to the water, take the free gift of the water of life, (Revelation 22:17 NIV). I hope you'll take the link to Tenth Avenue North's YouTube video and song to experience God's amazing love.

Time and again the Bible refers to water as an image of God's love. Did you know that under Memphis, Tennessee there is a huge aquifer (spring) that holds billions of gallons of water 1000 feet under ground? It is inexhaustible for the people in Memphis. Think of Jesus as the living water that springs up into our lives to overflowing. We cannot possibly hold God's love inside us. It overflows to those around us as we learn to love as He loves.

Have you expereienced God's amazing love? If not, my friend, I am praying for you. Say His name and you will know His presence. I have been without His love, and I never want to experience that again. No one has to because God knocks at the door of our hearts, waiting for us to invite Him in. Will you do that today?
