Getting old is the hardest thing I've ever done. When I read Getting Old Ain't for Wimps--Inspirations and Stories to Warm Your Heart and Tickle Your Funny Bone by Karen O'Connor, it got a whole lot easier. The book is written in devotional format (anecdote, verse and prayer) with lighthearted humor. I loved reading stories of similar things that happen in my life. I laughed and prayed along with Karen. I've learned laughter makes life fun and easier to manage.
Getting Old Ain't for Wimps is part of a series of books: Getting Old Still Ain't for Wimps, Walking with God Ain't for Wimps, The Golden years Ain't for Wimps and Being a Grandparent Ain't for Wimps.
If you find the Golden Years are not what they're cracked up to be, be encouraged by Karen's humor. The books are available in paperback and in Kindle format.

Wow! Sue, thank you for this great review of my book. I'm so grateful to hear my words made getting older a bit easier!
It did more than that. It encouraged me to take my writing to the next level by putting my devotional writing into a book. Thank you, Karen.
No matter our age, laughter lightens our load and helps us forget about all the creaks and crunches in our body's! ;)

Thanks, Sue, for the reminder about this book. Its title has ministered to me for years, especially these challenging, golden ones. I had the privilege of meeting Karen at a CLASS Conference in 2002 nad picked up her book, Help Me, Lord, I'm Having a Senior Moment. I'm ready for a chuckle about aging. Thanks!
Thank you, Susan. I am reading Squeeze the Moment by Karen O'Connor and loving it. Besides that, I'm inspired to practice some of her suggestions on enhancing relationships.
I agree, Danie. Laughter is a great way to cope with the every day challenges. Thank you for your comment.
